AC repair

Capacitor, contactor, compressor, refrigerant leak. Diagnosed on the first visit, priced before we touch a tool.

AC installation and replacement

Manual J load calculation before a tonnage is quoted. R-454B ready equipment, permit pulled, old unit hauled.

Heating and furnaces

Gas furnace service, heat exchanger inspection and safety shutdown testing. Phoenix nights hit the thirties.

Heat pumps

One system, both directions. In a climate that barely freezes, an HSPF2 rated heat pump usually wins on running cost.

Ductwork

Static pressure tested, leakage measured. A perfect condenser feeding a leaking attic duct run is a wasted purchase.

Indoor air quality

Monsoon dust, construction silt and pollen. Filtration sized to your blower, not sold from a catalogue.

Repair or replace, decided with arithmetic

The industry loves to reach for replacement. Here is the rule we actually apply, and the two things that override it.

Repair usually wins when

  • The system is under year twelve.
  • The repair is under a third of a replacement.
  • The compressor is still inside its warranty.
  • The refrigerant circuit has never been opened.
  • Ductwork and static pressure test clean.

Replacement usually wins when

  • The system runs R-22 and the compressor has failed.
  • The repair passes a third of a replacement past year twelve.
  • There is a leak in the evaporator or condenser coil itself.
  • You have paid for two significant repairs in two years.
  • The unit was oversized at install and short-cycles.

Before you book

What does a diagnostic cost?

A flat $89, credited against the repair if you go ahead. You get the price of the repair in writing before any work starts. We do not quote hourly, so a slow diagnosis is our problem and not your bill.

What actually breaks most often?

Run capacitors, by a wide margin. They are a cheap component that lives inside a metal box sitting in 115 degree sun, and heat is what kills them. After that: contactors with pitted or welded points, condenser fan motors, and clogged condensate drains tripping the float switch. Compressor failure is much rarer than the industry likes to imply, and any company that reaches for it as a first diagnosis deserves a second opinion.

Should I repair or replace?

Our working rule: if the repair costs more than a third of a replacement and the system is past year twelve, replacement usually wins. Two things override that arithmetic. An R-22 system with a failed compressor is almost never worth repairing because the refrigerant is out of production and the parts supply has dried up. And a system still inside its compressor warranty is often worth keeping even when it looks marginal on paper.

Are you licensed?

Yes, licensed, bonded and insured with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. This is a demonstration website, so the licence number shown in the footer is an obvious placeholder rather than a real registration. On a live site you should be able to take the number straight to the ROC website and verify it, and you should do exactly that with any contractor you hire.
