Privacy policy
Written in plain language, because a privacy policy nobody can read is not a privacy policy.
Demonstration notice. This is a demonstration website for a fictional company. No data is collected, transmitted or stored by anything on this site. The policy below is illustrative of what a real HVAC contractor's policy should cover, and is not a legal document.
What we would collect
A real version of this business would collect only what it needs to get a truck to your house and to invoice you afterwards.
- Your name, service address, phone number and, if you give it, your email address.
- A description of the fault, and the readings taken by the technician on site.
- The equipment at your property: make, model, serial number, age and refrigerant type.
- Records of visits, quotes, invoices and warranty claims.
- Payment details, handled by a payment processor and never stored on our systems.
Why we would hold it
To dispatch a technician, to diagnose from history rather than from scratch, to honour warranties, to meet permit and inspection obligations, and to comply with Arizona Registrar of Contractors record-keeping requirements.
Equipment readings in particular are worth keeping. A capacitor measurement trended across three visits tells the next technician something a fresh reading cannot.
What we would never do
- Sell or rent your contact details to anyone.
- Pass your information to a lead-generation network or a home warranty company.
- Use your service history to target you with unrelated advertising.
- Send marketing messages without an unsubscribe link that actually works.
How long we would keep it
Service records for seven years, which covers Arizona contractor record-keeping and the longest equipment warranties we handle. Marketing contact details until you ask us to remove them, which we would do within thirty days.
Cookies and analytics
This demonstration site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no third-party scripts and loads no external fonts or trackers. Everything it uses is served from the same domain.
A production version of this site would most likely add privacy-respecting analytics. If it did, that would be disclosed here with the name of the provider and what it collects, before it was switched on.
Your rights
You would be entitled to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted where we are not required by law to retain it. Requests would go todispatch@thermalhvac.example and be answered inside thirty days.
